Update: 9-27-26 / 6:55 AM Murder Investigation into Fatal Shooting at Kailua Target On September 26, 2026, just after 8:30 p.m., District 4 Patrol officers responded to a shooting in the Kailua Target parking lot at. Preliminary information indicates that two groups of people were arguing at the Kailua Fall Festival. The argument continued into the Target parking lot, where someone pulled out a firearm. A 30-year-old male sustained a fatal gunshot wound. His pronouncement of death was made at the scene. A murder investigation has been initiated. Witnesses described the suspect as a local male in his late 20s, wearing a black sweater and his hair in two braids. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300.

Three Juveniles Arrested Following Shots Fired in Waikīkī On September 26, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the Waikīkī area after witnesses reported hearing gunshots. Responding officers found evidence of a shooting, including damage to nearby property. Officers later located the suspects in the McCully area. Three juvenile males, ages 17, 17, and 16, were arrested for various offenses, including Reckless Endangering in the First Degree, Place to Keep Firearm, and Place to Keep Ammunition. No injuries were reported.
